wht would my brother think?
my brother is going to Northwestern college in minnesota and its a christian college and according to logo telivision network its one out of 3 colleges tht doesnt support gay/bi/les ppl and care about them. this frigtens me cuz im bi and have a girlfriend (im 13) and i think going to this college will make my brother even more narrow minded if he isnt already so when i do “come out” he might disown me and not want anything to do with me so im scared…he’s a stubburn person and controling twoards me sometimes cuz he basicly raised me and even tried to tell me tht i couldnt date till i was 16 once so im just wondering wht you think he will do or think?
Firstly, don’t assume he will map the prejudice he has against you – he might not actually be that bothered – just because its part of his faith doen’t mean its a part he firmly believes in.
Regardless of what he thinks you should pursue what makes you happy and you should never deny who you are – if people can’t accept yout that’s their problem, not accepting yourself would be your own problem. Just be who you are.
Maybe if you do come out he would be forced to rethink his “narrow mindedness”, but at the very least all religions should preach tolerance. Sadly this is often not the case, but that’s their problem.
